BB Torch:: Stuck In A Reboot Loop? Aug 17, 2012 I downloaded an app last night and as soon as it installed my phone started to reboot.Since then it has just been on a reboot loop. The white line gets nearly to the end then a red light comes on and it starts all over again. I have tried a soft re-start: alt shift del a battery pull (loads of times!) I have tried to log on to blackberry desktop manager and resettle whole phone but it tries to connect to the phone every time! I am stuck at what else to do Similar Messages:. ADVERTISEMENT Jan 2, 2012 My BB Torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop. I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting 'Update' from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a 'nuked or bricked BB'.
I have been working on this for days. The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message 'Unable to maintain JVC connection' or something along the lines of 'Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue'.I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased? Dec 15, 2011 I was doing a regular update of the BB apps yesterday late evening, as per the notifications received by the App World. However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot.

It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again.
I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup?
This is a month old Torch 9800 device. Feb 27, 2012 My Blackberry torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop tried all fixes nothing works, desk top manager wont fix, nor will a download of OS, sounds like a common problem Nov 12, 2012 I tried to update the Blackberry Apps store as notified on phone. Now phone is stuck in a reboot loop.I have tried pulling battery and connecting to computer, pulling SD card and sim. Feb 2, 2012 So earlier I was deleting some lock screen application and my blackberry was rebooting but then it got stuck on the reboot screen. So it reboots fully and then starts again. I've tried to connect it to the desktop manager and that didn't work so I took the battery out and tried the apploader but the app I wanted to delete was already gone but it kept rebooting.
May 28, 2015 My battery ran out so I plugged my 1020 into a charger and it started turning on then showing the no battery icon then off then on again and now that I connected it to my pc all it does is show the nokia then turn off then show the nokia again. I somehow managed to turn it on but everything was laggy and slow so I turned it off again and back to square one. May 16, 2012 My iphone is stuck in reboot loop and wont connect to itunes.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1 Jul 27, 2011 Today I noticed my Defy screen was black, and it wasn't responding to power button presses, so I took the battery out and rebooted it. A few hours later it was black screen again, and I tried the same proceedure but watched it.
Maybe 10 seconds after it finished booting, it rebooted and then gets stuck in a sequence of showing motorola logo and rebooting over and over. I've tried removing the battery again and it will boot once, then immediately reboot and get stuck in loop again.I have tried the following and the same result every time:boot w/o simboot w/o sdboot w/o sd or simboot with better signalI cannot do factory data reset as I do not have enough time before first reboot to get to it.
Attempting to start any app before the first reboot just returns to the menu screen. I attempted to do 'hard reset' as per these instructions: ttp://www.knowyourcell.com/motorola/motorola-defy/defy-uides/595986/howtohardresetthemotoroladefy.htmlHowever after motorola screen I get a warning icon with a droid similar to this image but without the menu. Attempting to tap anypart of the screen or press any button did not change this screen:ttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/41958880780d9e4.jpgThe phone has been running mostly okay for the 6 months or so that I have owned it.
I say mostly because I upgraded to Froyo 2 months ago, and it was behaving badly (lagging badly) until factory data reset a month ago. Sep 27, 2011 My phone has been stuck in reboot loop for the last 2 days.
I had powered it off on the plane and when i turn on.it keeps rebooting itself after the 'Rethink Possible' screen ends. I let the battery drain and still after charging it keeps on rebooting.
I am running the phone on 'Safe Mode' and only able to run basic Android apps like Gmail, Phone, Gtalk, Camera, etc. All 3rd party apps in Safe mode do not work. Sep 6, 2011 I've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons.
I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset? May 3, 2010 My mom has literally had her BB 9700 for 2 weeks now and last night it just turned off and when she goes to turn it on it shows that it's turning on and shows the status bar only it doesn't go all the way and just turns right back on? I really don't feel like hassaling with t-mobile if there is another way to fix this!
Apr 14, 2010 I am an IT technician, and we use BES at my company. I have been handed a phone by one of my fellow employees exhibiting the dreaded reboot cycle problem. Yes, I know there are lots of other threads on this, but some are dead ends and some just rehash the same old thing.
I'm not certain, but I think this may be different and deserve its own thread. I am working with a BlackBerry Curve 8310 stuck in the known reboot loop. Black screen for 5 seconds, white screen with hourglass for 5 seconds, black screen for 5 seconds, rinse/lather/repeat. I have tried: 01) Using BBSAK to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running). 02) Using JLCmder to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
03) Installing the BlackBerry Java Developer Kit and running the wipe variable command on JavaLoader.exe (without Desktop Manager open or running). 04) Deleting vendor.xml and running loader.exe with and without the /nojvm variable from /Program Files/Common Files/etc (without Desktop Manager open or running). 05) Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager to load the newest OS (hey, why not). 06) Tried every combination possible of booting the phone without the battery and inserting it at just the right time, over and over and over again, while all of the processes above attempt to run (BBSAK, JLCmder, Loader.exe, etc). 07) Doing all of the above on a Windows XP Professional PC instead of my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 PC. 08) Doing all of the above on a different BlackBerry Curve 8310 without a reboot problem (it works every time; wipe the OS, install the newest one, no issues at all, I'm very familiar with the process).
09) Trying all of the above using a completely different battery. 10) Trying all of the above with the SIM card removed (there is no media card, so no issues there). As far as all of the documented steps to resolve this known issue, I've tried them all in every which way using every combination I could possibly imagine or invent on the fly, and I've made absolutely, positively no progress whatsoever. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 continues its auto-reboot-5-seconds-into-loading process, and it prevents any of the utilities above to communicate with the phone long enough to establish a handshake before it reboots again.
It doesn't seem to matter when I insert the battery at all. The farthest I get is using the loader.exe method (step 04 above). Once it gets to the device initialization step, however, and I insert the battery back in, the reboots simply continue. I am at a loss, and I've done everything that I know to do or that I've learned to do via research on multiple messageboards. Aside from sending teh phone out for repair, what steps are there to take that I have not yet taken to fix this myself? Note that there is no report of the phone being dropped, jarred, or physically mishandled in any way.
Nonetheless, could it be that this is not software-related, but hardware-related? What am I missing? Oct 29, 2015 I have a Z2 that got stuck in a reboot loop after attempting an update. I'd like to make sure I get a copy of my data before I hand it in to have it fixed. Jun 3, 2014 My iPhone is stuck in a guess what is just a reboot loop. It gets stuck on the apple logo for maybe 5 minutes then it goes to the spinning wheel for another 5 minutes ( wheel doesn't spin just stuck ) then goes back to the apple logo again.
I've tried holding both the home and power button to reset it but all that does it restart the process. I've put in DFU mode to restore but my computer and a friends computer both won't recognize it ( also tried to cables ) so I can't restore it. Info: iPhone 5c, iOS 7 Jul 26, 2010 I did some cydia updates, against my better judgement, it worked ok for a day or so then choked while txting. Its an unlocked 3g on ios3.0.
I think it was mobile substrate, I ssh'd an older version, a deb file but no luck. Is a restore my only option? I have my old 3.0 ipsw. Apr 25, 2011 My Curve 8900 shut down over the weekend. It won't come back on.
It goes off and when I press the power button, the red light comes one, the backlit screen with the hourglass comes on and then it goes off again. A little while later, it starts the cycle over again, backlit blank screen, hourglass spins, bb shuts off. May 14, 2012 I was downloading the Evernote app from the Appworld and as it was installing it started to reboot and now is in a reboot loop where it keeps rebooting non stop. Mar 1, 2012 My bb torch 9800 keeps getting halfway through a reboot & then it starts to reboot again. I've tried connecting it to my laptop but it can't. Recognise it because it's not on.
So then I try to update it & it gets to module 255 and then stops. Jan 4, 2012 I tried to download 7digital and my phone is now in an endless restart loop and it will not load my phone! I even did a battery pull!

Install the desktop software. Install the handheld software. If it is a non Vendor software. Search and delete the 'vendor.xml' file.
Pull the battery out of your device. With the battery out connect the device to the computer. Go to Options and select 'connection settings' 6.
Select USB PIN this may take a few moments since there is no battery in the device. You might even have to select detect device in some rare cases. Select the application loader icon. Select all software you want installed. Proceed to the end portion untill you see the 'Finish' button. Very IMPORTANT. Do not hit the finish button, instead select the ADVANCED button.
Make sure both boxes are checked. Proceed until it asks you if you want to automatically back up and restore. Select DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY BACK UP MY HANDHELD.
Once the process starts. Take care not to bumb out the cord and re-insert the battery. Again on some rare occasions you might have to wait until it finishes saying connect to insert the battery.
